Unicorn Children’s Foundation Developmental Assessment Clinic

 

The Unicorn Children’s Foundation Developmental Assessment Clinic is a grant-funded clinic that provides psycho-developmental evaluations for children 18 months – 7 years demonstrating symptoms indicative of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or exhibiting developmental delays. The comprehensive evaluations assess several domains of functioning (i.e., cognitive, adaptive, and social-emotional) utilizing gold-standard assessment tools. The primary goals of the evaluation are to identify current levels of functioning, assess developmental skills, and obtain a comprehensive understanding of the child in order to provide individualized recommendations for treatment and service planning. Additionally, our clinic serves children with a prior diagnosis of ASD for reevaluation purposes. The evaluation is typically completed in one day and families receive preliminary feedback on the day of testing. In addition, evaluations can be completed in Spanish.

 

Community Outreach

As part of our commitment to increase awareness and early identification of autism spectrum disorder, we offer free training for schools, parents, faith-based organizations, and community groups within Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. These trainings are offered in both English and Spanish.

 

Clinical Training

The Unicorn Children’s Foundation Developmental Assessment Clinic also provides supervision and training to post-doctoral residents, clinical psychology doctoral trainees, and school psychology trainees to aid them in developing their diagnostic and assessment skills.
