Provost’s Research and Scholarship Award Winners


The Provost’s Research and Scholarship Awards (PRSA) have been honoring faculty for their outstanding accomplishments for the past 14 years. This past year, there were 6 faculty members honored in two disciplinary categories across two career stages. The winners were honored at the 2024 External Funding Recognition event held in the Levan Center for Innovation on November 13, 2024. Additionally, the winners gathered with Provost Ronald J. Chenail, PhD at the NSU Faculty Club to celebrate. The 2024 PRSA winners are:
In the category of Arts, Business, Humanities, Law, and Social Sciences:

Assistant Professor Award – Jeremy Weissman, Halmos College of Arts & Sciences is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Humanities and Politics.

Professor Award – Florence Neymotin, H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship, is a Professor of Finance in the Department of Decision Science.

Professor Award – Jonathan Banks, College of Psychology, is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience.
In the category of STEM and Health Medicine:

Assistant Professor Award – Aman Cheema, Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Institute for Neuro- Immune Medicine (INIM) Office of Clinical Research.

Professor Award – Toshihisa Kawai, College of Dental Medicine, is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Oral Science and Translational Research.

Professor Award – Joana Figueiredo, Halmos College of Arts and Sciences, is a Professor and the Executive Director of the National Coral Reef Institute (NCRI).
