NSU’s Grant Writing Mentoring Program
Hosted by the NSU Grant Writing Lab (in the Division of Research and Economic Development, DoR) and Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Grant Writing Mentoring Program pairs early-career faculty with established researchers to write and submit a grant application by the end of a year-long program. Along the way early-career Mentees receive 1:1 support for their grant proposal development, a grant writing workbook, customized grantsmanship trainings, and broader career mentorship.
The 2021-2022 program supported 12 Mentors and 12 Mentees from nine NSU colleges–MD College, Dental, Halmos, HCBE, Health Care Sciences, Nursing, Optometry, KPCOM, and Pharmacy. Many thanks to our Mentees and Mentors for the dedication of their time and expertise to this program! The program resulted in grant submissions to the following:
- American Academy of Optometry
- American Heart Association
- National Institutes of Health
- Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
- President’s Faculty Research & Development Grant
- Quality of Life Grant
- Health Professions Division Research Grant
Applications for the 2023-2024 program will be available in Jan. 2023, with marketing and interest sessions to be conducted in November/December. Read more about the program, Mentee eligibility, and how to apply here: https://www.nova.edu/dor/research-resources/grant-writing-mentoring-program.html
