$3.8 Million in Federal Funding for Coral Reef Research

The Halmos College of Arts and Sciences accepted $3.8 Million in Federal funding from 2023 Appropriations bills for Coral Reef Research. The (big) check was delivered by Congresswoman Debby Wasserman Schultz, Florida’s 25th congressional district, at the Guy Harvey Oceanographic Center and will be used to protect the Florida coastlines and marine life through coral reef protection, researching solutions for stony coral tissue loss, and reef restoration.
