Telehealth/Telemedicine through Tytohome for APRN Student Education
Stefanie La Manna PhD, MPH, APRN, FNP-C, AGACNP-BC and multiple collaborators within the College of Nursing continue to place high emphasis on appropriately training future nursing practitioners on Telehealth/Telemedicine for health care delivery.
To strengthen the utilization of Telehealth/Telemedicine, Dr. Lamanna and her team engaged in a multi-year two-phase study incorporating innovative technologies integrated with standardized patients in controlled clinical scenarios. The results, which were presented at AACN and FNA conferences, indicate that APRN instructors are receptive to the novel technologies and value their feasibility, readability, and usability; further, preliminary results suggest that these tools can help students meet remediation of skills and critical thinking.
