The Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and Human Services, the College of Psychology and the Office of Military Affairs have developed a partnership with the Veteran’s Trust to begin a unique and exciting research project. Led by Dr. Dana Mills in collaboration with Dr. Alex Edmonds and Dr. Tom Kennedy and Dr. Ryan Bennett from the Department of Psychology, the primary objective is to develop a study to determine if the application of a high-end racecar simulator can enhance self-regulatory mechanisms as a means to improving quality of life, well-being and associated symptoms of PTSD in veterans and first responders. The project is expected to begin a pilot study phase in January, 2024, with plans to secure external grant funding to expand the project over the course of the next year.
