Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute Team presented at the Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Symposium
The research team from the Rumbaugh Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research (RGI) at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) actively participated in the Fifth Annual Live Like Bella Pediatric Cancer Research Symposium, that was held on September 12th, 2025 at the Dora Country Club of Miami, Florida. The symposium brought together leading scientists and clinicians dedicated to advancing pediatric cancer research and finding new cures and treatment strategies for saving the lives of children affected by various forms of cancers.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Appu Rathinavelu, Ph.D., Professor and Director of RGI, the team presented three scientific posters highlighting their recent discoveries on epigenetic modification for inducing programmed cell death in aggressive forms of neuroblastoma cells. The participation of research staff, graduate, and undergraduate students highlights the strong culture of collaborative mentoring and translational cancer research within RGI.
The team’s contributions were featured on the official Live Like Bella Foundation’s Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/p/DOq6wUYEfmR/?img_index=15), showcasing RGI’s continued efforts in advancing pediatric neuroblastoma research through innovative Genomics and Epigenomics targeting strategies.
