The Beginning
In 2004, The Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade County invited organizations to develop and implement a system of quality improvement to support their funded K-5 out-of-school-time (OST) programs. Through discussions with local OST providers and national researchers in learning and childcare, Project RISE was created. Ten years later, Project RISE expanded its services to include agencies serving K-12 in Youth Development (YD) programs. Since then, Project RISE has continued to collaborate with providers.
Mission
Project RISE (Research, Inspiration, Support, & Evaluation) is a Trust-funded quality improvement initiative designed to enhance the quality of Trust-Funded Youth Development programs for school-age youths in Miami-Dade County. Our mission, through evaluation and training, is to raise the quality of care in ways that improve children’s health and safety, promote academic success, and enhance their social and emotional development.
RISE Guiding Principles
Project RISE has four underlying principles to complete its mission:
Research:
We offer research-based best practices and interventions for Youth Development providers.

Inspiration:
Our friendly coaches, trainers, and facilitators take the time to build relationships with Youth Development staff as we offer them our experience and expertise. We aim to assist and inspire staff so that they, in turn, are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools to inspire children and youth.

Support:
We offer online courses available 24/7, live in-person and virtual training, engaging peer learning opportunities, and one-on-one, customized coaching at times that are convenient for providers.

Evaluation:
Project RISE partners with The Children’s Trust to provide data-driven guidance to Youth Development providers. We assist providers to review and understand assessment & outcomes and create plans for continuous learning and quality improvement of their programming.
