HCAS’s Graduate Science Research Symposium

On February 24 and 25, research presentations by NSU graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and collaborators were delivered at HCAS’s 4th Biannual Graduate Science Research Symposium. These two days were packed with research talks; see the full list of speakers here. This symposium began in 2016 with inspiration from Dr. O’Brien, and is led with support from a committee and the Student Government Association. Society for NeuroSports Conference

The 3rd Annual Society for NeuroSports Conference was held January 21-22 at the Marriot in Hollywood Beach Florida. Here is the full conference schedule. This event, among other initiatives of the Society for NeuroSports (SNS) is putting NSU on the map as a leader in the field of Sports Neuroscience. Below is a listing of some featured speakers from the event. See a highlights video from the conference here.

  • An interdisciplinary concussion panel from NSU experts: Lisa Lashley, Psy.D., Chris Algieri, M.S., Roody Joseph, DPT, Amanda Nanasy, O.D., Alessandra Posey, D.O.
  • Jose Antonio and Tony Ricci from College of Health Care Sciences
  • Lisa Robison – College of Psychology, Neuroscience
  • Jonathan Banks made the keynote introduction for his colleague, Dr. Amishi Jha

 

 

Looking ahead, the NeuroSports 2023 conference will be at the Deerfield Beach Wyndham on February 17-18. Confirmed speakers include a keynote from Dr. Ross Zafonte, head of the Harvard Football Player’s Health Study, and a plenary lecture by NSU’s Dr. Nancy Klimas about how her clinic uses exercise challenges in patients with autoimmune diseases and Gulf War Illness.
