A Message From Isabella Soublette

Dear NSU Donors,

Please let me introduce myself to you as the new Associate Director of the NSU Fellows Society.  I am very excited to fill this role with a primary purpose to communicate with nearly 800 donors who have contributed to Nova Southeastern University since its beginnings in 1964.  The Fellows Society concept emerged ten years ago in 2011 as an idea brought to the university by Alan B. Levan, an NSU Trustee, as a means of recognizing and thanking those who expressed their passion for NSU by making, and in many cases, continuing to make significant financial contributions for the betterment and growth of the university.

As you may have seen, there is an area called Fellows Way situated between the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center and the Carl DeSantis Building in the heart of NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus. The area is adorned by a large Mako Shark Fellows Monument and attached to it are plaques of all the Fellows Society-eligible donors who wish to be recognized.

As you may be reading in the news and communications from NSU’s President and Chief Executive Officer, George L. Hanbury II, NSU has emerged as a world-class university, thanks, in no small part, to a prestigious group of benefactors, known as the NSU Fellows Society. Members of the Fellows Society include individuals like you, corporations, foundations, and trusts, whose cumulative giving to NSU is $50,000 or more, with some contributions at the Shark Circle level at $1,000,000 or more.

A tradition has evolved to honor new Fellows and those who by additional gifts, have moved up a Fellows level or more during the past year, at a Celebration Ceremony.  Due to COVID-19 impacts the next Celebration Ceremony will be held in 2021.

Members receive invitations to exclusive Fellows Society events throughout the year, such as a distinguished lecture series, holiday receptions, and special-access tours and presentations.

Below are the Fellows Society Cumulative Gift Level designations currently in effect:

Fellow:    $50,000 – $99,999,  Bronze Fellow:  $100,000 – $249,999,  Silver Fellow:   $350,000 – $499,999 , Gold Fellow   $500,000 – $999,999.

Shark Circle:  $1,000,000 – $2,499,999,  Ruby Shark Circle:  $2,500,000 – $4,999,999,  Emerald Shark Circle:  $5,000,000 – $9,999,999,  Diamond Shark Circle:  $10,000,000 or More

I hope this information is helpful.  I look forward to serving you.

Be well, stay safe, and Go Sharks!

Isabella Soublette
