MULARKEY’S Message

Thank you to all our donors who have contributed to making NSU’s Campaign to Preeminence and joined us on our journey to “making yours a healthier world.” Your gifts and acknowledgement of the great work conducted by faculty and staff members and students do not go unnoticed. The University Advancement team will continue to keep donors informed of NSU’s achievements and growth, as well as share stories about the impact your gifts have made.

I also want to extend my congratulations to the class of 2023. You now join a prestigious community of NSU alumni making a difference in their fields and their communities.

One of the facets of our campaign to preeminence is to continue rising in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings. These rankings are derived from a variety of factors—graduation and retention rates, student-faculty ratios, and student selectivity for the incoming class. As we improve our ranking, the value of your NSU degree also increases.

Did You Know?

  • NSU’s student-athletes have won NCAA championships in basketball, swimming, and more and have maintained an average GPA of 3.0 or above—a streak that has lasted for more than 19 years.
  • In March, the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, and in February, the Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine was granted full accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
  • At a time when the country is facing a national doctor shortage, the Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine has had 100 percent of our students matched with residency programs for the past six years.
  • By 2025, NSU will graduate more physicians than any other university in the United States.
  • NSU Cares is a fund established to provide relief to NSU students and faculty and staff members who have been negatively impacted by disaster—from the flooding in Fort Lauderdale to the aftermath of hurricanes in Puerto Rico.

Innovative initiatives, in-depth research, and student success are a few of the ways NSU makes a meaningful and positive impact on the world around us. As we strive to reach our goal of being recognized as a preeminent research university, you can help us fulfill our vision by including the university in your philanthropic efforts.

My team and I can assist you in finding a program or project that matches your passion. Whether you want to provide scholarship funds for an undergraduate student in your field, contribute to marine conservation, donate to foster health research, or support the wide array of arts and culture available to the community, NSU has the right opportunity for you.

I hope you enjoy reading about NSU’s research efforts, student scholarships, and our regional alumni networks in this issue of Donor Connection. Take a moment to find your name on our Online Honor Roll designed to recognize donors for their support and answer our Meet a Mako query to tell us who you’d like to hear from in a future edition.

Thank you again for your support. Fins Up!
