Class of 2021 NSU PI Alumni

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Class of 2021 NSU PI alumnus Shana Shephard has officially earned her American Society for Quality (ASQ) Six Sigma Black Belt certification. From Shana, “It was very important for me to sit for the CSSBB exam shortly after completing Nova’s Process Improvement MBA program since it provided the foundational material. I dedicated time each day to study (whatever I could fit in on weekdays and used the weekends for longer practice tests). Passing felt so rewarding.”

Also known as the CSSBB, a Six Sigma Black Belt is a quality professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. According to the ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belts are a highly coveted skillset known for their ability to reduce costs, increase revenue, streamline businesses processes, and improve employee buy-in.

In order to be eligible for an ASQ Black Belt, participants must complete 1-2 Six Sigma projects, dependent upon project experience, and demonstrate successful understanding of the Six Sigma Black Book of Knowledge by passing the ASQ CSSBB exam. For more information please visit asq.org.

Shana is director of merchandise planning at LovePop and lives in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You can learn more about Shana on her LinkedIn profile at https://www.linkedin.com/in/shanashephard/.
