Hello World

A bit about me. I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Princeton University and a B.A. in Mathematics from Vassar College. I worked at Bell Laboratories for three years prior to attending Princeton and, after teaching at other universities for a few years, joined NSU in late 1994. I’ve written three books in the area of computer graphics, and have published in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Journal of Systems and Software, Operations Research Letters, Optimization Letters, and Pattern Recognition Letters.

I like swimming, kayaking, running, and hiking. I miss the mountains sometimes, which are pretty lacking in Florida — our highest ‘peak’ rises to 345 feet and some of our sinkholes are nearly as deep. But the Florida waters are life-giving and we make the best of where we are, only to discover we weren’t where we thought we were at all.
